Island Adventures

I visited two Swedish islands this summer.

Gotland is an island that's off the east coast. We took a 5 hour bus ride + 4 hour ferry. Gotland is a very popular tourist destination for Swedes. It has a beautifully preserved medieval town and all different types of landscapes and rockformations.

One very cool thing about Gotland was that you could find fossils on some parts of the island. I managed to find a fossilized seashell that I took home. It was not unusual to see these kind of fossilized reefs all along the coastline.

Attempting to make my own rock formation. Hehe.

This wall goes around the perimeter of the whole city! It was built to keep invaders out.

Ven is a very small island that's off the westcoast of Sweden and was a nice day trip.

Summertime summertime sum sum summertime~

It's summertime!! I've been in Sweden the whole time because the weather is just fabulous now. I bought a special summer travel card so it is very cheap to travel around the area so I have been going on a few day trips here and there. Actually I'm pretty exhausted from all the sightseeing, biking and hiking I've been doing the last couple weeks. But the natural surroundings here are absolutely gorgeous...I have a ton of pictures I want to share and I'll try to post a little here and there.

Anyway, the other day I went to Ales Stenar and then
and then HIKED,yes i said HIKED, 15 kms ( a lil over 9 miles) to Sandhammaren, a natural beach that we thought was nearby. On the map, the scale said that it would only be about 5 km so we thought it would nice walk through nature, but in reality, the path zigzagged through forests and a gazillion hills. I wanted to shoot myself!!!
